Privacy Policy — Taboo Party
Effective date: 28 June 2026
Taboo Party (“the app”) is a local, pass-and-play party word game. This
policy explains what data the app and its service providers handle. By using the
app you agree to this policy.
The app has no user accounts and no login. You do not create a
profile or give us your name, email, or contacts.
Data the app stores on your device
- Game settings and preferences (e.g. language, sound/haptics,
last-used match rules). Stored locally on your device only. Removed when you
delete the app.
We do not receive or store this data on our own servers.
Purchases
In-app purchases (premium deck packs / the complete bundle) are processed by
Apple’s App Store. We never see or store your payment
information. Apple determines what you own; the app simply asks Apple.
Deck content
Word decks are downloaded from our content host (GitHub Pages). These are public,
anonymous content requests — no personal data is sent to retrieve them.
Analytics, crash reporting & performance (Firebase / Google)
The app uses Google Firebase to understand usage, fix crashes,
and monitor performance:
- Firebase Analytics — app usage and interaction events, an
app-instance identifier, device/OS info, and approximate (coarse) location
derived from IP address. Used in aggregate to improve the app. No advertising
identifier (IDFA) is used and the app does not track you across
other apps or websites.
- Firebase Crashlytics — crash reports and related diagnostics
(stack traces, device model, OS version, app state) so we can fix bugs.
- Firebase Performance Monitoring — app start-up time, network
and rendering performance metrics.
- Firebase Remote Config — lets us adjust app configuration
without an update; it reads configuration, it does not collect personal data
about you.
This data is pseudonymous (tied to a random app-instance identifier, not your
identity). It is processed by Google as our service provider. See Google’s
privacy policy and how Google
uses data from
apps that use its services.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your data.
- We do not show ads.
- We do not use third-party advertising trackers or the IDFA.
Your choices
- You can reset the advertising/usage signals tied to your device in
iOS Settings → Privacy & Security.
- Deleting the app removes all locally stored settings. Analytics/crash data
tied to the prior app-instance identifier is retained by Firebase for a limited
period per Google’s retention settings and then deleted.
- To request deletion of diagnostic data or ask a privacy question, contact us
(below).
Children
The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under
13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective
date at the top of this page.
